Transforming Lives in Brazil’s Sertão

For 30 years, Amigos do Bem has transformed lives in Brazil’s poorest regions. What started with 1,500 food baskets has grown into one of the country’s largest social initiatives. Thanks to the Deutsche Bank Foundation’s support, they now reach 150,000 people in 300 villages across Alagoas, Ceará, and Pernambuco, providing critical aid and opportunities.

In the sertão nordestino, extreme poverty and low educational attainment hinder upward mobility. Os Amigos do Bem aim to break this cycle by providing comprehensive support, focusing on education and vocational training to transform lives and foster local development.

Project Focus

In collaboration with Deutsche Bank, the project will support 45 youth with:

• Educational Workshops: Offering cultural, sports, and vocational activities.
• Vocational Training: Skills in entrepreneurship and trades.
• Nutritional Support: Daily meals and food baskets for students and their families.
• Transport Services: Safe transportation to and from the centers.
