Potable Water & Sanitation

Access to potable water and sustainable water supplies for low-income individuals in Latin America is a persistent challenge. Millions of people in the region live without access to safe drinking water and/or lack adequate sanitation systems, a trend that is intensified in rural areas. The problems stemming from the water crisis, including water-related illnesses accounting for a third of all childhood deaths in Latin America, are largely preventable. Our partners are working to improve access to safe drinking water and to develop effective sanitation systems and water management practices. Programs include:

• Installation of potable water and sanitation systems
• Training programs on proper management of water systems
• Educational workshops in water purification, health and hygiene
