Latin America has seen improvements in healthcare over the past few decades, but major challenges remain, particularly in the fight against HIV/AIDS and infant and maternal health. The HIV/AIDS infection rate is on the rise, with more than 50% of all new infections affecting women. There is a great need to address teenage pregnancy rates, which account for 52% of all births. Furthermore, every year millions of people die from preventable illnesses. To deal with these and other complex health issues, our partners are implementing comprehensive healthcare programs. Programs include:

• Primary healthcare
• Reproductive and maternal and infant health
• Pediatric health
• Preventive health and hygiene
• HIV/AIDS prevention and care
• Diabetes prevention
• Dental care
