Proeducación IAP (Proed) is a nonprofit organization, established in 1997 with the mission of improving the quality of education in public elementary schools in Mexico. Proed promotes the development of an integrated school community by joining efforts with ministries, school authorities and teachers, education service providers and other nonpartisan organizations.

In 2023, Proed worked in 112 public elementary schools directly benefiting 27,095 students, 1,953 teachers and 4,169 families. Mexico faces a serious problem in providing its students with a quality education. We work with the School Community whose members are parents, teachers and students. Our goal is to contribute so that:

• Public Elementary schools in Mexico may be integrated communities, focused on education and with its own management capacities.
• Students may achieve the expected learning and may develop the necessary competences that will prepare them to lead a decent, active and responsible life within their communities
• School principals, teachers and parents may work together for a better education.

To reach our goal, we have developed a school strengthening model, called Integral School Model (ISM). The ISM has an integral and systemic school approach that promotes participation and responsibility of the beneficiaries throughout our close accompaniment. Results are obtained by the close involvement of our beneficiaries and by building alliances with consultants who implement training activities and impart courses and workshops, as well as by optimizing school’s infrastructure and equipment.

Our Integral School Model aims to work benefitting all members of our school community:

• Students that are happy and eager to continue learning, communicating clearly, and taking care of themselves and their environment.
• Principals that execute a participative and pedagogic leadership. With the ability to integrate and adapt all guidelines for the continuous improvement of the school community.
• Teachers that are committed with self-esteem and appreciative of their own profession, with strong bonds that connect them to the school community; making the school community their center.
• Parents that are involved and take responsibility for the education of their children. They see themselves as educators and they appreciate and support the school community.
• School communities that are integrated, focused on teaching and with autonomous and participative management capacities.
• School campus with the necessary physical conditions and educative resources that favor adequate learning.
