Instituto Fefig helps make public education work in practice. Since 2018, the organization has partnered with public school systems across Brazil to strengthen early childhood education and literacy in the first years of elementary school, two critical stages that shape a child’s entire learning journey.

Fefig works where education policy meets classroom reality: supporting municipal and state education networks with methodology, data systems, teacher training, technical assistance, and implementation capacity. Its approach is designed not as a one-off intervention, but as a scalable model that helps public systems diagnose learning challenges, improve school management, support educators, and ensure more children learn at the right time.

Since its founding, Instituto Fefig has supported public education networks in 8 Brazilian states and 77 partner cities, impacting 2,417 schools, accompanying more than 24,000 school leaders and teachers, and directly reaching more than 330,000 students.
