The Challenge

Rural agricultural regions often face structural barriers to economic mobility, quality education, infrastructure development, and climate resilience.

Small-scale producers require technical support and improved productive infrastructure. Communities need access to education, financial inclusion, and safe communal spaces. At the same time, climate change increasingly threatens environmental stability and agricultural livelihoods. Sustainable development requires integrated, territory-based solutions.

The Response

Fundación Unibán advances a comprehensive model built on three strategic pillars:

• Economic Development and Infrastructure: Strengthening small banana and plantain producers through improved productive infrastructure, agricultural best practices, financial inclusion, housing access, and community facility development.
• Education: Expanding access to quality formal education, promoting leadership and gender equity, supporting regional talent, and advancing sports and cultural initiatives as drivers of social cohesion and peacebuilding.
• Environment: Implementing climate adaptation strategies and conserving strategic ecosystems to protect long-term territorial sustainability.
