For over 20 years, Fundación ProEd has worked to reduce educational inequity by providing continuous, high-quality professional development for teachers and school leaders across the country. The organization strengthens teaching practices and school leadership to advance student learning, socio-emotional well-being, and stronger school communities.

Approach

ProEd designs practical, research‑based training that educators can apply immediately in the classroom. Programs blend workshops with ongoing coaching and feedback, ensuring skills are implemented and sustained. The training emphasizes inclusive and equitable instruction so that all students can learn and thrive.

ProEd is internationally recognized by UNESCO and received:

• 2014 Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for outstanding work improving teacher effectiveness worldwide.
• 2024 UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize for the Diplomado LECTO LABS program.
  

ProEd is also accredited by Panama’s Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) as an Official Training Organization (OCA).

Spotlight Program: Diplomado LECTO LABS

LECTO LABS addresses urgent literacy needs in Panama’s public schools through a blended model of in‑person training and continuous digital support. The program equips teachers with evidence‑based strategies and classroom resources to strengthen reading and writing outcomes and build inclusive learning environments.
