Four in five adolescents in Latin America do not access mental health treatment.
AvaTeen strengthens adolescents and families through clinical support, prevention tools, and empathetic technology designed to identify emotional distress early and prevent crises from escalating.
The organization is developing collaborations with universities, clinics, and nonprofit organizations to expand preventive mental health support across clinical, community, and educational settings.
WHY IT MATTERS
Emotional distress is often recognized only after it has intensified or become a crisis. Adolescents, families, schools, and communities need practical ways to identify warning signs, begin supportive conversations, and connect young people with appropriate help.
AvaTeen focuses on reaching adolescents earlier by combining clinical expertise, early detection tools, prevention education, and coordinated support for adolescents, caregivers, educators, and mental health professionals.
WHAT YOUR GIFT SUPPORTS
By donating through The Resource Foundation, you support socially oriented initiatives that make preventive mental health resources more accessible to adolescents and families.
Clinical Validation and Early Detection supports pilots designed to evaluate AvaTeen’s approach, as well as school-based systems that help identify emotional distress and guide timely support.
Community and School-Based Prevention provides tools and programs that help adolescents, caregivers, educators, and professionals recognize warning signs, open conversations without judgment, and strengthen networks of support.
Equitable Access to Mental Health Support helps subsidize services for underserved adolescents and families who may otherwise face barriers to receiving professional guidance and care.
Through current and planned collaborations with Universidad Javeriana, Clínica Intellectus, Fundación Julie, and Psicología Sin Fronteras, AvaTeen aims to expand preventive mental health services across clinical, community, and educational environments.
Your contribution helps AvaTeen validate its model, strengthen early detection, expand community-based prevention, and make mental health support more accessible, so more adolescents and families can receive help before a crisis escalates.
All contributions are tax-deductible in the U.S.
