Maria Vasquez, Director of Administration, began working at The Resource Foundation in January 2000. Ms. Vasquez coordinates and oversees grantmaking processes to approximately 198 organizations, undertakes due diligence on selected organizations, manages records for SubFunds with major donors, and provides overall administrative support for the organization. As part of her work, she is in constant communication with country managers and The Resource Foundation’s affiliate organizations throughout the region.
Prior to this, Maria was employed by FEPP, an affiliated organization of The Resource Foundation in Ecuador, where she was in charge of the Savings and Loan Cooperative. Her primary tasks were to promote savings among farmers, process loans, and maintain liquidity. Working with FEPP provided her with a first-hand perspective on the situation and needs of the region’s less fortunate. She also has over 10 years of experience in the banking sector. Her main functions were to analyze credit loan applications, prepare reports, and examine strategic planning processes.
Maria holds a degree in Economics from the College of New Rochelle in New York and a Certificate in Translation from New York University. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
