Fundación Origen is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1991, that is dedicated to holistic social transformation through education.
Its main projects include the Pirque Agroecological School, Origen Teachers’ School, Vocational Training School, Interior Ecology Program and the Virginia Subercaseaux School. All of these initiatives are interrelated and share the objective of providing concrete tools for generating individual and social change.
Origen credits its growth as an organization to its innovation, creativity and willingness to engage in horizontal dialogue with several stakeholders across multiple projects. Each year, Origen impacts more than 600 families and 100,000 children in over 200 at-risk schools across the country, thereby contributing to a more peaceful and equitable world.
Your support helps Origen to:
- Implement the Origen Farmers Market, which supports hundreds of small businesses and artisans from all over the country.
- Create a fifth year of study for graduate students of the Agroecological School and other agricultural schools where they can deepen, in a practical way, their abilities in agricultural production and enterprising.
- Preserve and promote agroecological seeds through the creation of the Origen Seeds Bank.
